Styling
- Keeping the banyan tree as the focal point, the structures are under and around it.
- All doors open to the banyan tree courtyard.
- Packing timber frames, glass and windows are used to maximize light and ventilation.
- A kitchen is tucked under the banyan tree, overlooking the valley as well as view of the courtyard.
- Master bedroom foundation is used as the rear wall of the guest room.
- A loft is created over the master bedroom, and a dorm/room created.
- Roofing are tiles. Tin over chindi (wood shavings) ply.
- All wood works esply. Roof are applied with MRF vapour cure medium (a water ressistance paint-transparent).
- All wood works are either old frames aor recycled packing timber.
- Thatch is used for temperature control as well as to blend with nature.
- A rammed earth bed room is poised on the top of the courtyard, the feel is earthy yet not damp.
- Urban functionality - proper WC washrooms.
What has been achieved is a functional blend of earthy elements, cost effective recycled mediums and natural aesthetics.
